Track 1. Haunter of the Dark- A digital melody with dark undertones slowly comes into the scope of the track. You can hear a woodwind instrument. There's a tight yet subtle and steady drum beat. Warm vocals whisper something about, the song has an already creep feel about it. There is an occasional melodic guitar that plays as well. The heavy crunch fades into the picture of the track like a ramming train ready to take the next life in the dark cold night. Loving the combination of these genius harmony vocals as well as this slow yet heavy riff. A tasty lead riff bounces about. The music moves about in a way that just carries your mind along for the ride, you could just fall into a trance and it could take you wherever. Odd at times, but still very interesting and entertaining. Really liking the lyrical subject matter.

Track 2. Celephais- Seemingly out of nowhere a digital splatter transitions into a heavy conveyed crunch of metal. A groove ensues that is tight. Your ears are quickly treated to some catchy tunes. The vocals sound ok, though they seem to whisper a bit too much here. I wish they were more powerful, then again maybe they are just getting started. In places the music drags about some, but in other it picks up and becomes interesting. The vocals never really seem to carry over the track and become powerful like I'd like them to be, they sound again, OK, but louder with a more dynamic presence would be better, they just seem too low. When the melody assumes control of the track, thing become a bit more interesting, thus wrapping the song back around to its original hook, but the vocals even though they are halfway interesting do not make the impact on the track that you hope for.

Track 3. White Ship- Dual vocals harmonize a great opening here. A simple drum beat, along with a wood wind create a beautiful starting point. I love the crunch, melody, and great harmonizing vocals open the music up and just carry it off to a great though subtle heavy rocking place. The spooky theme itself is enough to carry you away to a crazy mindless place itself. I like the alternation with the melodies, some dull and complacent, but then the music opens up again, you at first don't like it but as you listen to it you understand the why.

Track 4. Stella Polaris- Your starting off in some heavy territory right out of the gates. The low vocals actually sound cool as hell here. The track has a kick as rocking feel to it. As the music moves along with this track you begin to understand the low placement of the lead vocals, its just a style thing, it works pretty well with the harmonies and with the overall tone and style of the dark music itself. There's some metal aggression that flares up in this track that's quite tasty, more please! Sweet lead melodies! Great vocal harmonies. A very tight sound, that trickling evil guitar just teases the entire cosmic feel of the music, bringing it to a higher place. The digital backing tracks though subtle also do wonders for the music itself. There's pieces of classical here, maybe some 80's styling's, along with metal thrown in here and there. An odd, but interesting mix to say the least.

Track 5. Through the Storm- A digital winding storm spins into crunching distortion. The vocals make a quick approach upon the track. There's melody and some passion but the can't make out the words very well. A decent tight distortion, though I wish there was more of this fantastic lead melody. Some mighty galloping makes headway, powerful well crunched grooves sway about. The music eventually fades upon the digital squeals. It definitely has that horror feel to it, that's for damn sure, like a dark 80s movie.

Track 6. In the Blood- I am beginning to lose track, am I listening to a movie score or actual music here? Still some interesting musical parts thrown in here and there. Loving the rocking groove it's heavy to the point, and let's you know, your not getting out alive! Intelligent but wicked lyrical subject matter. At times I do wish the vocals would be a bit higher meaning not always so low. The harmonies however are quite excellent. With the lead vocals, it just would have made more sense to have much higher vocals, though there is a creepy yet intelligent presence here. There are some captivating musical parts that make you wonder for a moment just what this is? The music changes around becoming interesting at times, boring at others, though just when it's about to seriously become good it ends.

Track 7. Burning Chaplet- Clean, slow, and creepy right from the start. Some endearing parts shine through quite nicely. The music slowly builds, getting a bit more better the longer you listen. The music drags a bit here, there's an interesting vocal melody but its like a dragging lull of darkness. Again its something that could be great in a horror flick or perhaps a stage performance or something similar. But where it stand currently, it's quite a while before things get good, but when the music does finally open up it's halfway decent. I just wish the lead guitar was higher in the mix. Things begin to alternate between a dragging and active feel of the music. And then there's a moment where there's a shit ton of aggression, just wish it was louder in the mix, sounded great there though.

Track 8. West of Arkham- Is that a subtle police siren? Is the song title a nod to Batman perhaps or just something overly gothic? More lonely low reaching vocals. An interesting guitar that crunches about with a subtle darkness. Timing changes draw in your interest a bit more. Mind provoking lyrical subjects are touched upon here. The music continues on with it's entertaining blast of heavy metal. Digital backing tracks are subtle, though somewhat affective. That odd thrown in sax, is nice, it makes you sort of thing of a chilling interruption in the daily goings on in life, and something odd just interrupts the conversation. Something not expected. The music begins to drag a bit again, though it's still a bit creepy. Love it though when it picks up, get's some chugging moments going, digging the aggression.

Track 9. The Crawling Chaos- A dark swallowing essence of open air induced negativity takes over everything. A slow clean guitar strums a melody that begins to invite the scope of the track into frame. Vocals enter with their low and lonely presence. They are creepy though you can't clear hear them all the time. If they were going for creepy and fucked up they got it. The music drags but at the same time you feel as if your lost in an 80's horror movie score as well, so it's sort of boring, but also a bit cool. I do like it when the heavy rocking moments being to splinter into the track. Delicious bass line, though it seems a bit muffled. After a while music storms back to life, as if to take on an evil. Entertaining lead solo.

Track 10. Essential Saltes of Humane Dust- A similar opening as if stepping into a retro horror flick, the whipping wind as if establishing a creepy unknown feel. The crisp drums wind quickly into a heavy rocking feel of classic metal. Digital melodies though bring about wicked feelings of haunted happenings. Some tasty aggression is on display with the pounding drums. The way the song feels, if the album was a horror movie, it would be that point where all is about to break loose, everything is fixing to go to shit, that's what this song conveys not the the music is overly bad, that's just what it conveys. For a moment things roll out into a kick ass groove of Metal.

Track 11. The Master- A similar digital melody of the 80's horror variety which has been used before open's this. A man speaks some of the words you can make out clearly some not so much. There's a clear macabre feel to it. There are odd, but creepy melodies that trickle and tumble about. It's pretty clear that this last track is mostly spoken word stuff. As the song ends, it spins away on a grinding sound fit for a horror atmosphere! Overall there's been some interesting entertaining stuff here, but other dull and boring stuff. I wished some of the vocals would have been more clearer, and not so low all the time, the vocal harmonies I did thoroughly enjoy though. I did like the horror themes just more doses of heavy melodic Metal would have been nice. Rating 6/10
