Usually when a song or album comes across my desk for review, I tend to wait until I have the exact excess free time to give a song or album the proper attention. I give it full listen through, as well as I thoughtfully, thoroughly, and objectively without ANY bias write out an opinionated description of said music.
So here's what I think, early this morning, when I loaded this up, and read the BIO on this band, I began to get excited, because of all of the cool horror aspects of this band, because they just seemed honest, dark, brutal to the core. Because to me, that's what life really is when you strip everything away. So, let's see... are they?
Track 1. In Shackles Insane-Well this song is sure as hell, dark, aggressive, and just BRUTAL. It smacks you in the face, and never fucking let's go. Try to go to sleep listening to this shit, I guarantee when you get it stuck in your head, they WILL haunt your nightmares. For a Death Metal band, they know how to get good and heavy, but at the same time, it's not all just machine gun bullshit. Consistently hard and heavy, but there are times it cleans up a bit, giving the listener a change of pace, which in my opinion helps tremendously with the overall take of the song, as well as giving the listener a compelling moving and intense conversation in the form of music to grasp, and yes you grasp it very quickly, and openly! I can't think of anything bad to say about this shit, it's just perfectly self contained. It's power and crude death metal at its finest. This one hit's on all cylinders. They sound like a bunch of pissed off demons who decided to start a death metal band, and to tell the devil to fuck off, and that they quit their 'day' jobs as demons lol. Sweet bass solo at the end btw... it's ugly and raunchy as can be, while not giving a fuck. I am digging the evil laugh. Hopefully more wickedly evil sounding shit from these guys for years to come.

Track 2. Just Another Victim-This song carries along with it a total sense of dread. The dynamics, and stop and go riffs, via time changes are masterful, to say the least. Another dose of fuck you from these masters of Death Metal. More of the same, good riiff's, baby choking vocals lol. (I mean this in best possible context of compliments from a writer to a metal band and talented vocalist). More chugging here than a helicopter ready to take off. You begin to feel sorry for the victim this song talks about, but then you just say fuck it, and want to go along for the heavy evil ride, and you want to commit to whatever the hell these guys are about to do. Whether its fucked up insane or what. It's clear now my ear drums are the victim after that pronounced song filled with awesome mayhem and destruction, thanks guy's my ear's are now bleeding. That shit was so heavy that it now hurts.
Track 3. Inject the Worms-Clean guitar riffs/ bass riffs open this establishing a very dark and creative essence. The drum's pound around, at a timely rate, but nominally perfect. More precise from these guys, A growing growl makes it's presence quite known, it washes over my senses through my head with a conveyance of hell yes. Digging the decrescendo, and crescendo back into the song with the dark/heavy as fuck riffs. These vocal's sound like they are going to war. This song, make's me think about the possible process of death, dying, and the body decaying long after burial. The process that the body goes under. It's all clean and brooding and ok, then you die, your a hunk of rotting meat. You fester, as these things begin to corrupt you, that's what this song is. It begins to fester, and corrupt your mind with its dark and interesting fashion. It's honest, and again BRUTAL. The song is the worms, that take you over, the message of the song is, nobody cares about you, the world does not care about you, all you are is a hunk of meat for the world to cling upon. So in the end it's a dark, and awesomely tasteful grind with fucked up intentions and actualities. YOU the listener at the jaded casualty.
Track 4. Bastards Burn- I always wondered, what it would be like, to burn in hell. This song brings forth that pondering thought in my mind. I liken my boss to a smiling demon, and this song, seems sort of like the forward trampling and begging me to do my job. But this song is more than that. It is the essence of the dark journey of it's self. This song feels and sounds like HELL. No signs of hope, just a consistent and foreboding truce with evil. Riffs, drums, vocals, this shit is mean and bad ass, almost like a wall of noise, though somewhat of a rude abrupt ending. I think it suits this song, it's a cold walk away from the mic, without caring about the listener. A frigid coldness, filled with aggressive and crazy mayhem from started to finish.

Track 5.Abhorrent Wings of Decay- Wow, such amazing yet dark clean melodies. Almost has a theme that would come from the dark ages or even the dawn of the renaissance. But then it explodes, and turns into something Dark, Mean and beyond what can even be fathomed within a black hole. Intense shit here. Wrist and neck snapping rhythms. The vocals have been consistently dark on this album, but the harmonies here, sound like an evil group of fallen angels singing. And then the creepy transition back to clean, almost like the song has a sinister agenda at hand. One HELL of a vibe here! It wants to creep and crawl into your head, and just when you least expect it, your snatched like a thief in the night, it chokes you, and then it rein's you in with just a subtle amount of oxygen or blood, just enough to live, and then it takes more away again. This song is a brutal suffocation via METAL.
Track 6. Chant of the War Demons- More darkness, from these masters of insane pain. The riffs rumble in, with the powerful drums. The dark and evil melody is well established. They never let up with the beat. It leads to random awesome chugging. The crazy war lord on the vocals, lets you know he's still here, that your not going anywhere! This song sounds like the main event at a war party. It makes you wonder how much blood this band consumes before shows lol, no shit. Timely, precise, creative and talented, hell run's through the vein's of these guys. It's to the core, and full of tone. And the best part is besides this being awesome metal, it's also, very good quality recording. Very good balance throughout.
Overall, a very heavy/BRUTAL/ dark. outstanding set of music. Well written and put together, pure and utter destruction. Takes A LOT of talent to do what was done here.
Rating 10/10. They were EVERYTHING that I thought they would be... and MORE. Yes, this is cookie monster or 'machine gun metal', in a way, but at parts, it has sufficient amounts of melody,, rocking grinding, tearing you up guitars that chew you up and spit you out all over the place without a thought or care. It FUCKING ROCKS!!! All around great music.
