Ygodeh-Inside The womb Of Horizonless Dystopia

Ygodeh is a band out of Latvia UK that plays synthetic death metal, ok another sub genre of metal. Ok for those of you that might not be into this I think it definitely warrants a listen. So the music is synth heavy, and the drums almost seem programed but the drums are the most technical instruments on the CD. Guitar chord structure seems basic at best. Some good and interesting guitar melodies but they have been done by far better bands than Ygodeh. And yes to all of you fans that ask if I have heard "Descension", but I liked the original thought and melodic riff from My Dying Bride "Cry of Mandkind", because that is where this original melody came from. Then they get into this riff and groove beat but the Band Lake of Tears already did that.

My point is that this is just a band that is copying beats and melodies from other bands. It is nice if you just want to listen to something or if you want to see the new talent that is out there but not worth my hard earned money. If Ygodeh was playing I would stay to see their set but I would not specifically go out or for that matter I wouldn't announce it to my friends that I am going out tonight to see Ygodeh.

This whole CD is reminiscent of a band from yesteryear called Dawn of Dreams, everything about these guys just seems to be a more modern version of that band, well except with less interesting music. The promo says that "you have been warned because this type of metal is infectious and spreads inside your brain". You want to know something, they are right, it is infectious and I think I need an antibiotic to help me forget this crap. For a little over 30 minutes the music was just gaining on and on and I only wished I could get back the last 30 minutes of my life. The solos are amateurish and not too interesting. I mean if this band will copy riffs from every band and call them their own, then at least copy a solo from Dragonforce so that I will be a little interested. There is a reason why this music is in the underground, and in all fairness it needs to be placed into a ditch and forgotten. Actually no, some jerk will probably dig it, use- give any CD that Ygodeh makes and call it a dog frisbee.

OK so I have been going off on these guys but the music is not complex, it is not interesting. There are too many dubs and the guitar work is not technical like the drum machine. The guitarist seems to have just placed a couple of solo parts from failed songs and called the song "Rhythm of the Beast" complete. And worse was the fact that there were so many instruments inside the song which were misplaced. If you listen to "Rhythm of the Beast" and "Take the Blue Pill" (probably a take on the Matrix line) just go listen to a real 5/5 CD like anything from PAIN (now that is a real band) of how about And Oceans. As the CD continues it reminds me of another crappy band called Canderia where their stuff was Jazz Metal (yeah I know another Fucking sub genre).

By the end of the CD I was really trying to not give these guys a 2 but I couldn't help it. It was just so uncreative and just barely listenable, and that is it, it was listenable. This is like the awful music that they play in a hall as the main band is setting up. And this music just makes the main band seem that much more awesome. This is metal to say that you have a girlfriend and that your girlfriend will think that she is hanging with someone that is in a band, but shit I would rather hear "Jingle Bells" with the dog version or "Grandma got run over by a Reindeer" than this one more time, I really have to go delete this from my computer. Sorry but I give them a 2 out of 5 guitar picks only because production is better than a Black Metal demo. Actually, I would rather hear "Grandma got run over by a Reindeer" in Black Metal form than Ygodeh. But at least there is hope for me in my music career. I say that because if Ygodeh can play out and get a CD completed then I will take a microphone and put a lot of reverb on it and shit in a bucket and record that and charge the same price as a Ygodeh CD, and I think I would probably make more than them. So sorry but unless you are a friend of Ygodeh, don't get this CD.
