Track 1. Until Grief Disappears- A clear cut exhale begins this awesome taste of madness. Dark, flavored rich distorted drawn out guitar riffs, reach over the horizon of your mind. Tight interesting drum beat. Very unique way the vocals seem to be in the back of the mix a bit, almost like an inaudible screaming, clarity is not so well, but there's hell of a lot of passion there. It has a hard minimalist feel all around. A bass solo, that tells a story of a not so easy life. The knocking drums, bring with them, a marching order of decay, which pours out from the strings of the electric guitars. Riffs slide in and out of each spout that is your ears. Rapid fire double bass kick, in and out melody in both the ears, That song does not exactly move you, but it makes the thought process, just ask questions. It's the kind of music that might make you ponder life, and your actions. And then the song kicks sort of into high gear, getting rough and dirty. You feel like the singer is punching against a brick wall, using bare fists, there is so much anger here. It's almost like two alternating moods, anger with the vocals, and the calm with the melody, yet in an aggressive manner, via the drum's/ rhythm, and then the song fades out on a dark, encompassing digital overlay.
Track 2. The Veil- A sharp explosion of utter metal, sort of messy. Some cool syncopation here. You begin to recognize the pattern in which this band is writing, recording. For a moment it rocks around and get's quite thrilling. But then it slows down, to set something up. The electric guitar driven melody, is a somber one. But it makes you want to take over the world. The vocals are still quite angry here, the passion and melody is there, but not clarity. The groove slows down more than ever, and for a moment, get's aggressive. It get's and keeps your toe tapping. Warning do not listen to this music while driving fast in a car, because you may end up driving faster, this music feels like a random yet crazy taste of adrenalin that makes you want. It all ends on a crazy cool drum beat, and I am wanting more.
Track 3. Avoid the Light- An awkward yet heavy riff, that brings an inspirational feel onto the track, but with melody begins this mayhem. Without cause or warning, there's an instant barrage of metal. Quite brutal, quick and sustained. The melody is like a helicopter loaded with helium ready to blow up in your face. IT slows down and get's amazing beyond what any words can describe. This music get's better as it goes along. The vocals are the same, dangerous, angry, aggressive, passionate, melodic, but not much clarity. It sounds like a war is going on behind the bass drum, but it's sharp as can possibly be. The clean riff, and fading electric melody, add an extra feel of wonder to this track. A crash smashing, thunderous return of heavy guitars here. That intrepid melody speaks of avoiding something. The vocals mix actually quite well with this music. The song transitions pretty well from slow to aggressive and back again. I would not say it overly gets comfy in any one place. There's a very healthy amount of movement, and flavored change. Great stuff.

Track 4. Below the Weight of a Mountain- An echoing outwards, humbles and shakes you. It fills the world around you to your feet, vibrating the walls, and even your pupils. A clean sweeping guitar, and another one, strum a tune, that seems and sounds meaningful. A prancing piano melody, dances upon the rhythm set for your ears, the wholesome, yet cold, endearing noise of the vibration return. Leaving you with the cold, and old empty thought of, what can, and what will be. I like this, even though it's not heavy, it is truly some dark inspirational stuff. It dances around in your brain, until it just fades and abruptly dies.
Track 5. To Have a Dream is to be Cursed- Without a waste of time, it step's right back into the realm of heavy. An interesting groove is laid before your ears. That sucks you in especially with the lead guitar, the insane angry vocals make their return. Very tight, well put together. Aggressive. The cleans riffs brings a welcome change. The syncopation in turn, becomes a heavy rapid, beat of crazed distortion. It's like an engine waiting to start, that has not started in a hundred years... but suddenly it surprises you, and explodes in your face, you thought it was dead, but it's quite alive. Kicking, bleeding, sweating, and kicking ass when your not looking. Love the melodies here. Hard as hell thoroughly hitting drums, the gifted man behind these skins. Mix placement of vocals is an interesting one, you'd think the vocals would not be back so far but hey, it's a welcome change. Interesting flavor all around here, angry, dark and light when it needs to be, and it dishes out atonement and inspiration in bunches.
Track 6. Drowning- A dirty fucking guitar riff, stimulates you, pulls your ears, tugging away. Your interest is drawn in, at the subtle smack of the skins. The rattle of the lead guitar has a sick yet awesome quality. The yet still angry and cool vocals return. You ask yourself,... is a throw down about to occur? Possibly the vein of a murder about to take place. Slight heavy explosions of short riffs, the vocal clarity opens up. You begin to cheer them on more. IT becomes something you can really dig into. The vocals take on an extreme form. When you think about that, compared to whats been here already that's well insane lol. I mean the guy already sounds freaking angry at the whole world. The short heavy bursts of metal, are sweet, and engaging. Slid in between, the electric melodies, a constant chime, letting you know, hey, we're here to kick your face in. The slow crisp beat, installs a sweet bass line. A clean melody that is heard, makes your ears clearly rock and wonder. The sweet electric melody cuts into the mix, just enough. It's at this point of the song, that you feel like, the action has been committed. And now all of the 'after' will ensue. You wonder, if the vocals, the passion behind them is a way of saying... Can you live with yourself now? And the song fades into a rumble of the bass and a digital or electric melody, quite finely put.

Track 7. Shards- This opening feels', sound's like something is being almost summoned from the depth's of some deep dark place. But with the explosion of the track, into pure aggressive metal. You realize, the only thing they were 'summoning' was the attitude to put forth, the energy. Which is felt here. The music is like a dynamic shouting, session, but thoroughly rocking and heavy. a definite cool, catchy feel about it, that keep's your interest boldly. The clean parts, are almost like a seeking out of change in perception of the track of point of view here. Still tasteful, and mesmerizing. The groove settles, and drives home the message of the song. Pieces of something is settled deep down inside, and they are just trying to bring to the surface, to 'summon' outwards onto the world in a crazy yet certified physical form of heavy balanced metal. Well done, decently said. The march of anger, is felt, on, and on, until it just suddenly dies.
Track 8. The Abyss- A track that begins, in a dark place. Is it a physical place? Or perhaps a mental one, possible continued after affects of one's actions. Maybe now, said person is questioning their own reasoning or momentum as a human. That's just what this track says to me as I listen to it. It is a heavy crazy curiosity. It begins the dark yet heavy stepping rhythm parts again. The angry vocals dive forwards with their presence and message. I am here. I am in a low place, hear me fucking roar. The chug of the electric guitar, thoroughly lets you know your alive, very quickly. The harmonic parts that ring in the backing tracks, facilitate sheer fucking awesome metal flavor. The machine gun accurate drums, go as fast as humanly possible, until the tempo begins to fade into another groove which begins to critically assault your soul. It's creative force, put's forth an effort that tries to squeeze every last drop, every last time, and try of your sheer will, all of your energy. Every thrust of the fist, ever sling of the devil's horns, it's right here, can you feel the anticipation within the track? It's the groove, it's the melody... it finally dies... it finally fades.
Track 9. Lay my Memories to Rest- They waste no time finding a groove, everything is quickly established, but a melody to begin the song would be preferred. But there's more than enough melody here to suffice that. The feeling of letting go here is quite heavy. You can feel it in the drums, guitar, bass, and even the anguishing pain within the vocals. The crunch of the guitar lets you know though, that whatever it is. it's not quite ready to let go. Perhaps there's a fight, there's sure as hell passion here. An unwillingness to give in and or give up. In fact it settles, in, getting heavy, stubborn and more real than ever. Another moment of clear perception within these tracks. The slow beat and clean melodies, that lead to the heavy trudging metal. It's the fuck you to the listener saying hey, were not letting to yet. It grabs your ears, but only to let you go, into empty silence, still great.

Track 10. The Longest Days- A vividly, in your face, echo of clean melodies, spring boards from the back to the front of your mind's eye. You are serenaded by complete utter bleakness here. The hard tap of the drum, dictates a motion of a monotone vibe. It permeates, settles, and festers, becoming something heavy and aggressive as fuck. you can very subtly sense it. And then it comes on full bore. The moment of clean receiving perception that I am familiar with, with this band. The passionate yet angry ass, and face kicking vocals. The mindless obsession of bursting joy filled anger. It could cut steel coated butter. It could kill a dragon using the sword of an angel. The precise yet demanding double bass, the perfection that's here at times. So sharp. Timely, creative and juicy. IT has a slow, yet hard driving groove at times. Like large steps through a cold day, each step, is like a description for each song title stated here, and that's how this review has felt. A progression of actions. Overall a very tasteful, and eclectic, electric pulse pounding experience. Quite fucking close to perfect.
Two things, that it lacks, thicker sounding guitars, and it needs more vocal clarity. Everything else is great, improve those, and it's a step towards perfection for this band. One things' for sure, there is a hell of a lot of ANGER... and Aggression here, the passion is most definitely present. I enjoyed multiple tracks. Fave being... Track 2, but that's not to take away from the other material, was not an easy selection choosing my favorite, lots of great stuff here. They seem to have a crazed yet cool unique sound all their own, angry, melodic, fuzzy metal. Overall Rating 8/10.
