"Well Typically when you think of Brutal in your face black metal the mind instantly leaps to Sweden and church burning rival eliminating savagery, but in this case pack your "Trve Kvlt" lunchables cause we are taking a field trip to Italy to enjoy the sonic fury of Black Flame.
There most recent release "The Origin of Fire" beyond words, touches on some of the finer points of Blackened Death Metal.
The opening track "Wandering Hermit" kinda eases you in for the brutal assault to come with a nice spooky intro very reminiscent of Isis "Isis/Aerogram in the fishtank split ep or wavering radiant era".
only to kick into a nice harmonizing intro for "My Temple of Flesh" which unleashes into some sweet black metal riffage and quite articulate drumming from m:A Fog I love the layers of symbol work.
"The Unholy Cult of Rejection" reminds me of old school Immortal with better production and a more nasal snarl than abbath though displaying moments that break away from the cliche black metal mold to more death metal territory.
"Under the Bridge of Illusion" isn't a Chilli peppers ode thank the Almighty Beelzebub himself, the song has a very good pace to it and Chuggs along with all the chugging and open ringing chords I crave, like a white walker from that show everyone keeps talking about. now I'm getting a blend of a more thrashy feel with "On the Trail of the Serpent" which then breaks into more of an industrial esc black metal chorus I think Euronimous would be very proud.
At this point I am being bludgeoned with an intense Double kick onslaught for the intro to"The Fire Union" and might I add that the vocalist Cardinale Italo Martire is busting out quite the delivery.

"The Demiurge" lives up to it's definition with blast beats throwing forward enough wind to start a blazing tornado from a burning church, with riffs you can grind your teeth to the root on and then comes the breakdown which needless to say is very consistent and keeps the aggression going even with the slightly slower galloping tempo and the whammy bar massacre at the end of the solo adds alot of depth to the song as well. OOH I love me some grinding low ringing power chords and that is the essence of the intro to this song which really demonstrates you can be chunky, heavy and brutallzzz without sacrificing groove which is the only thing bands today shouldn't sacrifice (what you do at home or in your Altar of baphomet is your own business)by the way the melody is very catchy. I think I hear a bit of a florida death metal influence at the beginning of The Gateway to the Sun"(I always want to ad n0)) every time I type Sunn0))...) and now we are at the essential blackmetal feel we all embrace while gargling pigs blood from our chalices before retiring to our upside down cross shaped inverted suspension sleeping devices.
Brutality....Melodic Assault and the multi tone vocals reminiscent of Tibetan throat singers chanting, everything I've ever looked for in a song of brutality with musicality. And the last track of the album "Lucifer Rising" has such an ethereal ambiance it's like time slows down and the witch mountain scene from fantasia was reanimated with the grotesque obscurity of salvadore dali and the vicious splatter effects of Ralph Steadman to soften it out to lull you into his trance.
Over all I would say this is a very well rounded album that tastefully smears the best parts of the genre into a layer cake of brutallity as if it was baked by the master chef's of Gorgoroth. I'll give it a 3 3/4 stars or pentacles rather, So good job Black Flame keep bringing these gems out!!!!!!"
