Taste of khaos

It was a hot day, the humidity had picked up, a few bands had already performed and held their own quite well.
Yautja, a local band opened things up with some tight crisp and intense grooves, their singers had ton's of passion, they poured their hearts out on that stage, enjoyed the total crunch of their sound overall.
At other points of the evening though, I was doing interviews, so I really only got to hear just a bit of Ringworm and from Theories, both of which, are pretty talented rocking bands, and from what I heard I did like, I thought damn, that's good shit, was loving the guitar parts!
Black Breath came up on stage and rocked from the start, quite thunderous. The drummer, is probably one of the hardest hitting drummers I have ever heard.
Their vocalist is quite powerful and had a controlling presence over the crowd.
The bass line's could punch god in the face and get away with it, truly bad ass. The thick essence of their guitars it's like a wall of heavy galloping distortion that just smacks you in the face, killer licks!
Overall, a heavy ball's to the wall, low to the floor, earth shaking and shattering sound! Enjoyed their performance.
There was a decent mosh pit going while Black Breath played, though looking back it just seemed to be getting things warmed up for the evening.
They also played a song I really liked Home in the Grave! Dug the hell out of that one! The others were pretty damn good as well, they got people moving and going crazy quickly, me I enjoyed it all. Overall, they are a very gritty band, hard nosed, with a take no shit stage persona and conveyance. They take no prisoners when they go up on stage they mean to fuck you up, and then enjoy it later. And yes the crowd did seem to enjoy them as well, quite a few people I asked said they'd come to see either Goatwhore or Black Breath, but I really did not speak to many people, though there were a lot of people there.
I am pretty sure though everybody in one form or another was interested in every band on the evenings card, for which damn sure looking back, every sampling of each band's sound, it was a rocking night of damn good metal, from start to finish.
I Really dig Black Breaths music, and enjoyed their live performance. Even though, the crowd had not reached the climax of involvement like they would later in the evening, when Goatwhore took the stage, You could still see the beginnings of the crazy mosh pit antics when Black Breath took the stage, though who knows what I missed while outside conducting interviews, I am pretty sure I missed some good shit from other bands, I saw quite a few moments with the lead singer of Black Breath where he just roared over the crowd doing as he pleased, their music was like a dark death metal trance of complete awesome.
You'd swear after hearing Goatwhore that Satan and his demons, had just graced the stage. When the lights down went low and had all become dark, you knew the pain was about to begin. Drums would shatter about sending a chill through your soul with powerful force, and bones would quickly snap. The guitar and bass rumbled and thrashed with an in evil so thick and mighty! Death evoking blows were encountered in the mosh pit formed in the center of the floor unlike the one earlier, this one got way out of hand, it just, got to where I could barely take pictures, though I still tried. They had guitar solos that could slit your throat without a blade present, Sammy was truly was truly ripping it quite nicely! Ben owned the crowd from start to finish, it seemed whenever he wanted more energy from that crowd for the band he could easily summon it, and it was instantly Goatwhore's.. Right before the last song was to play, he told everybody up near the merchandise table to get their asses down on the floor and get close to the stage. He also said that everybody needed to stop being afraid, which he was right, I mean look at them. Goatwhore are mighty, menacing, and thorough monsters of destruction! The only real reason I went up there was to take pictures and try to get alternate angles of the band. The crazy mosh pit did not bother me, though I was amongst the crowd he said to get their asses on the floor. And once the band started back up; Absolute Mayhem commenced, an ass kicking of the highest order, was dished out. I had to put my camera away, because at this point taking pictures was impossible, as well as standing your ground, the mosh pit got much larger. I have never seen a band play so fucking fast in my entire life, and the last metal concert I went to was Metallica/ Lamb of God/ Gorija, in 2009 here in Nashville,Tn. So yeah, these guys' were Fucking Fast as Hell! And they were exceptionally dark and aggressive with their themes. But it was an extremely exhilarating performance by Goatwhore overall truely, EPIC to say the least. They put an immense amount of physical exertion into their playing, and put one hell of a show on. You could just feel a rush of energy coming forth from them radiating out into the crowd, and back and forth the entire time they were on stage. They fucking owned that shit.
I am still feeling the side effects from last night, all of the emotions, as well as getting the shit kicked out of me at times in the mush pit. You know it was a damn good show when your feeling it the next day. I pulled a few muscles and my shirt was drenched in sweat.
I went to the small pizza place Obie's right afterward and had a few hot slices of the perfect pizza that it was. Sitting there thinking about the awesome hell that I had just experienced from start to finish, with Goatwhore. It made me realize how much effort and time these bands really put forth, their love for the music, our love for the music, and there's a sheer complete community, they feed on our energy we feed on theirs. Yes you've probably heard or been told that before. Every where I looked, people were having a great time soaking up every second of this experience, releasing emotions that they had gathered up from their day, letting out it on the floor, during a night of profoundly bad ass metal. Nothing about their performance disappointed me. I even enjoyed their vocal interactions with the crowd quite funny, though crazy.
